MY AIM IS TO SUPPORT AND GUIDE YOU TO BECOME YOUR STRONGEST AND HEALTHIEST SELF.
I love being a Naturopath and Kundalini Yoga teacher and what I recommend for you is exactly what I do to support my own health.
I walk the talk with great pride and cannot imagine my life without Kundalini Yoga or the naturopathic care I put into my own physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual health.
Meet Brenda Rosenfeld
Brenda is a highly qualified naturopath, clinical nutritionist, medical herbalist, mentor, international speaker and lecturer with more than 20 years of clinical experience.
During her many years of practice, Brenda is well known for her results through gently encouraging, guiding and assisting her clients to better health.
She was an Intensive Care registered nurse for 10 years and brings her combination of medical system training and complementary therapies training to every consultation, bridging the divide between orthodox medicine, naturopathy and nutrition.
Brenda focuses on the body-mind-emotional connection and the way our body reflects everything that we think and feel. Brenda understands that our bodies want to be as well as possible and can be incredible in their ability to regulate and repair themselves. She also knows that each of us is wonderfully unique and each treatment plan is individually tailored to suit the specific needs of each client. Even if 2 clients present with the same condition, as their experience of their condition is different, their treatment plan will be different.
She has a particular interest in autoimmune conditions, cardiovascular disease including high blood pressure and high cholesterol, insulin resistance and diabetes and chronic illness.
Our world needs Naturopathy and Kundalini Yoga.
I believe Naturopathy and Kundalini Yoga can make a difference to the health of our world and all populations.
By shining our own individual light, by being kind, respectful and compassionate to ourselves, we can be that to others and we can lead by example.
We’ll no longer need to be judgemental if we can learn to not judge ourselves, that we will no longer need to be unkind or disrespectful as we will learn that it starts with us first being kind and respectful to ourselves.
Our bodies are the messenger and what we are experiencing is our body’s way of trying to get our attention. It is about learning to go within and learn about ourselves. It is about truly owning that we are human and that we are always doing the best we can based on what we know about ourselves, our perceptions and our conditioning in each moment.
It is a lifelong journey and that within the journey there is time for joy, love, laughter. That we are stronger united within ourself and we are our own best friend.
I have always believed that the name of an illness or condition is not always the most important feature. You may be asking yourself why?
I believe it is because of the interconnectedness of our mind and thoughts, our physical body, our emotions and feelings and our spirit and the powerful influence they have on our health and wellbeing.
You may be asking yourself what then is important?
I think Hippocrates, the father of medicine says it so well - “it’s more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has”.
The actions, physical pain and behaviour you do and have today may have had their roots sown many years ago and it is those wounds and behaviours, habits and conditionings that need to be heard, supported and healed.
Each one of us will have our own unique experience of what is happening to us and it is that uniqueness that needs to be considered and talked about when working out your own unique treatment plan.
The combination of naturopathic medicine and kundalini yoga has been a powerful one in my own personal life and it through that experience that I bring them both to my clinical practice and to you.
You are in the driver’s seat when we are working together. We are working with what your priorities are and because you are the one who will need to follow the plan, we create it together.
I want you to leave our appointment feeling motivated and heard (and not overwhelmed and wondering how you will be able to do it all – that will only cause you more stress and interfere with your goals).
Away from the clinic, I love the ocean and can often be found walking the beautiful Coogee to Bondi track, I do my own daily kundalini practice (and notice how different I feel if I have not been able to do my practice), I love dark chocolate (we need to always know that we can enjoy a treat every day), I love to dance, I love adventure and I love playing card and board games.
I love what I do and it is a privilege and an honour to be able to guide and support you. I walk the talk with pride and “practice what I preach”.
I cannot remember a time when taking care of myself has not been important to me. What I have learnt though is that I used to try and control everything as a way of taking care of me. My greatest fear was losing control – how would I cope if I wasn’t in control, if I wasn’t making sure that I was only eating healthy food, making sure I was on top of everything and feeling I was able to manage everything that came my way. And while I was so busy trying to maintain control, my body and being was unravelling.
My body eventually did what she had to do to make me stop. I was not surprised when it happened, and the gift was that I was able to realise the precious opportunity I had been given and I began the most powerful healing journey of developing my relationship with myself.
I have learnt that while we are not in control of anything, we can absolutely choose how we want to respond (and not react) to whatever comes our way; that while we don’t know what is around the corner, all we need to do and really all we can do is take everything one moment at a time and one step at a time, and while we cannot look to anyone else for our sense of self and inner happiness, once we have that deeper connection with ourself, we are able to choose who we want to have in our life to complement our life.
I wish that I could say that it was easy and quick. I wish that I could say that it was not the most challenging thing I have ever done. Changing our conditioned behaviours, our conditioned beliefs, changing our automatic default behaviours, becoming best friends with ourself and learning to shine our own light is like unravelling a ball of wool that has many knots and tangles in it. It takes time, patience, kindness and compassion and forgiveness for and of ourself. What happens once the ball starts unwinding and unknotting is so worth the effort and the clarity, understanding and decrease in stress and pressure that follows is life changing and life affirming.
During the many times when it felt too hard, too overwhelming, too confronting, too painful, too awful and easier to just stop, I reached out to myself and with the support of some wonderful and very special practitioners who were part of my ‘team’, I found more of myself and more of my inner strength, courage and bravery. I learnt that all the answers I needed were inside me and that the people I worked with were there to support, provide guidance and a safe space for me to delve within.
That is the space I work to provide for my clients.
What I also learnt is that we “never get there”. I used to think that “I will be happy when …” or “I will feel better when …”. Now, I know that life is a continual journey, that we are continually evolving and learning and growing and that that is how it is meant to be. What is different is that I no longer fear it, try to control it or worry how I will cope. I know that I can work through anything, that my body is my guide to what is going on within me and that together all parts of me can work together and move through any challenge with grace, dignity, kindness and compassion for ourselves, and from that space towards others.
Just like with a partner in life where communication is key along with respect, love and negotiation and compromise, our relationship with ourself is one of a partnership between our thoughts and our feelings and our body.
I provide you with the most up to date and researched treatments and protocols, comprehensive assessment and follow-up care and nutritional, naturopathic and herbal medicines that are specifically tailored to you.
